Meqraat Taiser is an educational platform for learning and memorizing the Holy Quran. It connects students with qualified teachers (Muqri'een) through live audio sessions, assignment tracking, progress monitoring, and in-app messaging.
The app is intended for users aged 13 and older.
2. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
- Full name.
- Email address and password.
- Age.
- Gender.
- Account type: Student or Teacher.
b) Learning Preferences (Students)
- Current Quran reading level.
- Requested recitation style or curriculum.
- Preferred session time (morning / afternoon / evening).
- Preferred days of the week.
c) Session Data
- Session records: start time, end time, and participants.
- Audio recordings of sessions — saved locally on your device only and never uploaded to our servers.
- Teacher notes and feedback associated with each session.
d) Device Information
- Device identifier — used solely to enforce single-device login and prevent unauthorized concurrent sessions.
- Operating system and version — for technical compatibility purposes.
e) Push Notification Token
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token — used to deliver session reminders and in-app notifications to your device.
f) In-App Content
- Messages exchanged between students and teachers within the app.
- Assignments and tasks assigned to students.
3. Permissions We Request
- Microphone — required to conduct live audio sessions with your teacher. This permission is only active during a session.
- Camera — optional, used only if the user chooses to enable video during a live session. Video is never recorded; session recordings are audio-only.
- Storage (Android) — required to save session audio recordings to your device's Downloads folder. These files are never sent to our servers.
- Notifications — used to alert you about upcoming sessions, new messages, and assignments.
You may revoke any permission at any time through your device settings.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Create and secure your account, including preventing unauthorized access.
- Match students with their assigned teachers and schedule sessions.
- Deliver push notifications for sessions and messages.
- Display session history and learning progress.
- Improve app performance and fix technical issues.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
5. Third-Party Services
a) Agora — Real-Time Voice Communication
We use Agora RTC to power live audio sessions. Agora transmits encrypted audio streams during active calls only and does not store call content after the session ends. For more information, see Agora's Privacy Policy at agora.io/en/privacy-policy.
b) Firebase / Google — Push Notifications
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to send push notifications. Firebase processes your device's FCM token in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not integrate any advertising networks or third-party analytics trackers.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Account data is stored on our secured servers with encrypted passwords.
- All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
- Audio recordings remain on your device and are never transmitted to us.
- We enforce single-device login to protect your account from unauthorized access.
- We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
This app is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.
